an India Pale Ale kicked up a notch to form a true Double IPA: feverishly hoppy with a malty backbone and higher-than-standard alcohol content. Citrusy hops tease the senses with aromatics and lingering bitterness, while just the right balance of malts disguises 2XIPA?s extra gravity. We?ve been brewing 2XIPA since 2010, but it was in 2016 when we made this world-class double IPA perfect by increasing its Simcoe dry hop by 150%. This is an ale that doubles your expectations!
WINNER: BEST ALE, 2018 AC BEER & MUSIC FESTIVAL The only way to describe this beer is Infinitely Drinkable. This is smooth liquid refreshment with a hint of Centennial hops for fruity notes and low bitterness for an easy finish. Available on draught and in 8 packs of 12oz cans, yep that?s right 8 cans, because when a beer is Infinitely Drinkable, six just isn?t enough!
the India Pale Ale we brew is our version of a brewing legacy. IPA?s name hails from its colonial roots. British soldiers in India didn?t have access to fresh beer, and the malty ales they attempted to take onboard their ships would soon go stale. By adding generous amounts of hops, they found the beers would better survive the voyage, thus a new style was born. At Southern Tier, we?ve brewed our IPA since 2002. It is a beer with a vigorous hop profile, well-balanced malt background and a medium body. Our IPA is most akin to an English style IPA and is an intrepid ale that?s triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a truly aromatic experience
sometimes evolution is observed in real time. Case in point: Nu Juice IPA. Over the course of more than a year of development, our R&D team uncovered the ultimate balance of hops and malts. This process involves adding Mosaic, Ekuanot, and Simcoe hops over a multi-day period, creating a refreshingly juicy and approachable IPA. As an added bonus, bitterness has been reduced to a low 30 for what could be the smoothest IPA ever brewed.
